Whether teaching children, leading worship, or cleaning & maintaining the grounds—every aspect of life God calls us to steward brings us deeper into relationship with Him. Meet our current team of dedicated ministers!
Jon was born to Christian parents in Raleigh, NC, and was saved at age 8. He lived in many states while growing up but most of all in Tallahassee, FL.
After graduating from Baylor University in 1998, Jon started Camp Living Stones with his family in East Tennessee. He met his wife, Gretchen, there and was married in 2001. Jon and Gretchen have three kids, Alea, Laurel, and Asa. Jon served at The River Bible Church from 2012-2019 and helped plant Summit Bible Church in 2019.
Joe was born in Woodville, Texas and lived in Texas until he moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in October 2015. Joe studied at East Texas Baptist College (ETBU), then transferred & graduated from Dallas Baptist College (DBU). Following graduation, he went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas for a few years.
Joe grew up in a Christian home, with his parents and 5 siblings. His family was always involved in church: his dad was a deacon and Sunday School teacher, and Joe was very active in church and was there almost any time the doors were open. Although he was active in church, he still felt like something was missing in his life. When he was about 15, he realized he needed a personal relationship with Jesus. Joe asked Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of his life and began that personal relationship with Him.
Joe married his wife, Renata in November of 2001. Together, they worked with youth at Lake Point church in Rockwall, TX for several years. Joe also served as a deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Terrell, TX until his move to Mountain Home, AR. God has given him a special passion for Men’s Ministry and he was active in Men’s ministries in the churches that he attended.
Joe and Renata started attending Summit Bible Church in Summit, Arkansas in 2020. Summit Bible Church called Joe to be an Elder in March of 2023. He is currently involved with Men’s Ministry, leading a small group Bible Study, and assisting with leading the church spiritually. Joe realizes the importance of a daily walk with Jesus.
Worship isn’t just singing or playing music. It is our response to God. However, throughout all of scripture, we see God’s people responding to God in song.
Each Sunday, our worship team selects songs to parallel the sermon of the week and encourage God’s people to praise His name and respond to His goodness through musical worship.
Meet Our Musicians:
Corban (left) is first and foremost a Child of God, a partaker in the painful bloody battle of "keeping the heart with all diligence." He is secondly a husband who is learning to love his wife as Christ loved The Church. He is a self-taught bassist with a desire to learn more instruments. An avid learner, dreamer, and explorer, Corban is constantly searching for the thoughts and perspectives of those more experienced than himself and is learning to dream & explore with purpose in constant submission to God. He is a third culture kid & pastor/missionary kid following God's leading.
Caroline (left-center) grew up in a newly Christian home, watching God draw her parents from their old way of life & thinking into His world of light. She was saved at a young age but struggled through years of doubt & assurance until, at 17 when she was baptized, she could look back and see how God had faithfully worked in her life all along and all she had to do was trust Him. A musician since childhood, Caroline has been drawn to use her God-given love for music in ministry at Summit Bible Church since 2022. Throughout the week, She enjoys running her own business & homemaking with her husband, Corban, in their little cabin near the Buffalo River.
Josh (center), and his wife, Victoria live in Mountain Home, AR. Josh has served on the worship team at Summit Bible Church since 2021. He enjoys connecting with fellow believers in Summit and playing worship music.
